AURORA BOREALIS
The Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in the Helmholtz Association and its technical general contractor Wärtsila – Ship Design Germany (former SCHIFFKO GmbH) carried out an AURORA BOREALIS information event for international policy-makers, representatives, the media and the professional public in central Berlin at the Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus on 3 December 2008, 18.30 – 20.00 CET.
On that occasion, the technical design of this vessel was presented to a broader international audience for the first time. About 240 politicians, scientists and representatives of the shipbuilding industry and media participated in this event, 35 of them being representatives from European institutes and embassies.
